Gather is one of two venues operated & owned by The Haight Family.
When we say family, this includes our amazing team that has experience hosting, planning​,​ and coordinating over 1000 events. With deep roots in the Elgin​ area,​ we decided to launch a new venue in the heart of Pingree Grove.

Celebrating family is what we do and we welcome you to ours. We layer every celebration with our distinctive blend of sophistication, history, and local charm.

About the Building
​
Pingree Grove boasts a rich history, and while many of its historical edifices have faded with time, Gather stands as a testament to the village's heritage.
​
Established in 1910, this iconic church in Pingree Grove has always been close to the hearts of its residents. Once the heartbeat of the local Lutheran community as St. Peter's Lutheran Church — initially recognized as the German Lutheran Church of Pingree Grove — its essence resonates even today.
​
Interestingly, the materials for the church were locally sourced from E.A. Franzen, a prominent name in Pingree Grove's lumber business during that era. The legacy of the church dates back to 1890, with the congregation taking ownership in June 1935 for a mere $500. The bell tower, a significant feature, proudly houses two bells, with their pulls anchoring the foyer.

Enhancing its vintage charm are the gothic stained-glass windows from Kokomo, Indiana, installed in 1948. The congregation maintained the space until 2014, post which it generously donated the building to the village.
​
After years of silence, 2020 marked the revival of this structure. We undertook a passionate journey of extensive renovations to breathe new life into what you now recognize as "Gather in Pingree Grove."

Gather spans over 2600 square feet, showcasing a harmonious blend of history and contemporary design. The interiors are a visual treat, with the upper level featuring the mesmerizing stained-glass windows set against towering ceilings. The lower level, in contrast, transports you to a different era with its speakeasy-themed lounge. And for those who cherish the outdoors, the newly designed courtyard and cocktail patio await your festivities.
